About Jason Pulgarin

Inspired by street and pop culture, Jason Pulgarin has created works on diverse themes, from contemporary still lifes to Mexican wrestling to erotica. The artist is known for flat, figurative paintings composed of neon and pastel gradients. He also employs blocky brushstrokes made to look as though they were painted with digital software. As a teenager, Pulgarin interned for the artist and designer Tristan Eaton, whom he cites as a mentor and major influence. Pulgarin began his career as a member of the New York City-based street art collective TrustoCorp. He has focused on his individual practice since 2012, primarily producing paintings with watercolor and spray paint, as well as sculptures.
